STEM Academy students recently took part in their first Greenpower Heat at the prestigious Lotus Hethel Test Track in Norfolk.
Both our Year 10 and Year 12 teams represented the school exceptionally well during an exciting and challenging day of racing. The Year 10 students encountered several obstacles throughout the event but showed excellent perseverance, teamwork and problem-solving skills to successfully complete the entire race. Their determination and positive attitude were a credit to the school.
Our Year 12 team also performed brilliantly, setting the fastest lap of the day and achieving an impressive second-place finish against strong competition. Their hard work, preparation and technical expertise were evident throughout the event.
We are extremely proud of all students involved and grateful to the staff who supported the teams. The experience provided valuable opportunities for students to develop their engineering knowledge, resilience and collaboration skills in a real-world setting.
The teams are now eagerly preparing for their second Greenpower Heat at Bedford Aerodrome, and we look forward to seeing how they progress in the next stage of the competition.
