Year 12 Work Experience at Apple HQ

It has been a momentous experience for ten Year 12 students when they arrived at the Tech giant Apple HQ on September 23rd and 24th 2024. With them participating and learning, the girls were receptive and happily fascinated with the encoded software and of course were immediately engaged. Tasked to develop an app they took the designs they built in their designated groups on the first day and brought them to life with the help of Swift UI code. They received mentoring from members of the Apple team to guide them through and answer any questions. Overall, each had positive comments and interests were raised in pursuing a future in the field of Software Design X

Some of the feedback from the girls were expressed as follows:

“It’s been great … It made realise me how easy encoding was with little or no background.”

“I’ve never done coding before but this might be something on my list as a career”.

“I thought coding was way worse … that it was so hard. But they explained the process well”.

Supporting Education Through Sweet Treats: A Successful Bake Sale at Mulberry Stepney Green

From September 9th to 13th, Mulberry Stepney Green hosted an incredible bake sale, and we are thrilled to share that we raised nearly **£1500** for Leana Girls High School!

This fundraising initiative is more than just a delicious way to support a good cause; it’s about empowering orphaned and vulnerable girls aged 11-22 to access education and promote gender equality. Every cake, biscuit, and treat sold contributes directly to this vital mission.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and baked to make this event a success. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact on the lives of these young girls and helping pave the way for a brighter future!

Generous donation from SITUS

Nahia malik is delighted to accept on behalf of all Stepney Green Sixth Form students, a generous donation from SITUS, this was used to purchase laptops to top up our supply.

‘I want to say thank you for your generous contribution towards our school during this tough time. During the pandemic our learning was moved online, lessons and assignments were conducted over Microsoft Teams. I am studying Extended Diploma in Business Studies and have received an offer for Business with Law at Queen Mary University. BTECs are impossible to complete without a laptop so this donation has prevented me from falling behind.’

We look forward to building a strong partnership with SITUS going forward. Working together we could truly offer exciting opportunities for students.
